Darren Cordova Y Calor close the Garden Music season with rancheras and cumbias celebrating Albuquerque’s Route 66 centennial. The main performance begins at 7 p.m., and the evening includes classic-car and Mother Road themes.

Family discovery activities focus on arthropods, including butterflies, dragonflies, damselflies, beetles, and moths. Families may bring blankets, chairs, coolers, and picnics; food stands will also serve Route 66 and New Mexican favorites.

Getting there and venue rules

A free park-and-ride shuttle runs continuously between the Zoo and Botanic Garden from 5:30–9:15 p.m.; strollers, chairs, and coolers may ride. Glass, outside alcohol, weapons, pop-up tents, canopies, sports equipment, amplified speakers, balloons, and pets are prohibited. Qualified service animals are permitted. Smoking and vaping are not allowed on City property.
